Bath & Body and Cosmetic Label - Common FAQs

What's the best material for my bath and body product labels?

Choosing the right material is important in creating the best label for your bath, body, and cosmetic products. Each of our materials has unique attributes that can help your label stand out and protect the product within.

Since most personal care products are often in contact with water, we recommend using our BOPP (polypropylene film) label stock. Being both waterproof and oil resistant, our BOPP is perfect for withstanding splashes and spills. You can combine this with our Clear Gloss or Flat Matte lamination to tailor the look to match your product’s feel!

Waterproof vs Water Resistant Labels: What's the difference?

You may have come across the terms waterproof and water-resistant when researching the best label material for bath and beauty. While you may see these terms listed together, they are not interchangeable, and knowing the difference will help you decide which material will perform best for your bath, body, and cosmetic products.

A truly waterproof label is made of plastic or vinyl material, with an over-laminate (either glossy or matte) for even more protection. These materials will shield against water, and protect the label from shriveling, curling, or peeling. After being applied to a clean, dry surface, your waterproof labels can withstand full submersion in water for extended periods of time.

Water-resistant labels will be able to endure moisture to a degree, but not entirely.  While these materials will shield against water for a time, the look and feel of the label will be affected after contact with water is made. Water-resistant materials are recommended for products that will encounter damp environments, but not experience full immersion or long term exposure to moisture.

I'm having someone apply my labels to my product for me. Can you send my labels to them?

Absolutely! Many co-packers (contract packager) will offer the option to label your products for you, after filling the containers. In this case, label application is normally done through “machine application.” With this, there are some specs we will need before running your label order to ensure the labels are setup properly to work with the machine applications. We will contact your representative at the co-packer and get these specs to ensure everything works smoothly.
